Big Fish Lake Resort Docks | Big Fish Lake | The resort docks can produce a lot of fish early in the year. 2-4 feet of water, slip bobbers and casting both work well.
Bigfoot Island Reef | Big Fish Lake | This reef produces fish. Run the graph around for a bit or drag spinners around to find where they are concentrated. Then work it with jigs and slip bobbers.
Haunted Cabin Reef | Big Fish Lake | This reef and shore out in front of the cabin dock can be dynamite. In the winter try the flat 21 foot area east of the big rock that sticks out, about 30 yards out form it. Watch closely, you may see the ghosts of fisherman past on the island.
Little Martian Island Reefs | Big Fish Lake | There are several reefs on the west side that hold fish. Graph the area and fish where they are stacked up like a cord of wood. Tales are told of alien spacecrafts seen landing on this island. Who knows?
Main Lake Basin | Big Fish Lake | Excellent spot for fall crappie fishing, or winter ice fishing. Fish deep, 10-40 feet, locate the school on the sonar and get a small jig tipped with a minnow down there and see what happens.
Never Fail Bay Shorelines | Big Fish Lake | Troll along the edge of the drop along the shorelines outside the resort with lindy rigs with shiny spinners tipped with leeches, night crawlers, or my favorite - fatheads. Map created using Garmin's public site.
Pine Point Docks | Big Fish Lake | Great spot to fish from a dock. Throw out a line and see what bites, northern, walleye, perch, and smallmouth are pretty common.
Pine Point Trolling Lanes | Big Fish Lake | The trolling lanes out in front of Pine Point are excellent for fall trolling. Try the shallow areas 10 - 12 foot if there is some wind, deeper edges if calm.
Shorelines Outside Breakwall | Big Fish Lake | Troll these shorelines any time of the day or year. Shallow early and mid summer, deeper edges later summer into fall. Use anything that will get you to the right depth.
Slakovski Bay Reefs | Big Fish Lake | There is a marker buoy on the reefs, good structure to work. Schools of baitfish were present in September. The creek and shorelines and bay can be great early season. |
